Last Friday - Mercedes Benz Malaysia dropped a preview to the latest model in their range of SUV products, the V167 GLE 450. As part of their #HungryForAdventure campaign, the new GLE was specially flown into Malaysia for this product preview together alongside the local introduction of GLC Coupe CKD, now officially produced at the Mercedes Plant in Pekan, Pahang.
A true off-roader with a wealth of innovations, the all new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Line will soon be on the Malaysian road, following its special preview at the Mercedes-Benz SUV media launch held today. “We are proud to introduce the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Line. It portrays the iconic Mercedes-Benz design while remaining true to its character as an off-roader. The interior derives its fascination from the contrast between the luxurious and elegant design and the digital high-tech of our MBUX system. It a product of ‘all kinds of strength’,” said Dr Claus Weidner, President and Chief Executive Officer Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
Featuring an AMG Line exterior and Night Package, the GLE 450 AMG line levelled up its expressive and sporty character to the highest level, from the dynamic AMG body styling, diamond radiator grille with chrome pins through to the 22-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, and mesmerizing MULTIBEAM LED graphics. Other highlight features include panaromic sliding sunroof and sensual interior such as the brushed aluminium trim.
The new generation features improved comfort, reflecting it from the Acoustic Comfort Package. It enables the GLE 450 AMG Line to reduce disruptive noise, even when driving at high speeds. It also offers the windscreen and side windows with laminated safety glass with noise-damping film, additionally helping to improve the soundproofing.
Powered by a turbocharged six-cylinder that generates a thumping 367hp, the GLE 450 AMG Line is powered by 3.0 litre engine. The perfection continues with the extended DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, the latest stage of development of the air suspension system AIRMATIC with enhanced damping system ADS, the 9-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, state-of-the-art assistance systems and the latest telematics generation with internet access.
The estimated retail price of the new GLE 450 is targeted to be RM634k and will arrive in two variants, a 5 seater and a 7 seater mode.
